Fantasy city builder game for PC
Dungeons 4 is a premium strategy game for PC from developer Realmforge Studios. It is a city-building simulator that is set in a fantasy world and boasts strategic gameplay. Following in the same vein as its predecessor, players will once again unite the forces of evil and establish an empire for themselves one piece of land at a time.
Picking up the story where the previous Dungeon 3 left off, the main goal in Dungeons 4 is expanding the reach of the evil empire. This time around, players will face off and compete with a new race to vie for dominion and complete control over the land. It also introduces plenty of additional building options and materials to experiment with.
Expanding the empire
Back in Dungeons 3, The Dungeon Lord, with the help of the Dark Elf Thalya, managed to break free from the confines of the underworld to unite the forces of evil and establish an empire for himself. The quest is far from over, though, as Dungeons 4 sees the return of the dastardly duo yet again. Only this time, they've set their sights on expanding their influence throughout the land.
Dungeons 4 sees the arrival of the Dwarves, the hardy and industrious race that you must compete with for resources and land. Your Dungeon is four times larger now, with more creatures like the Undead and otherworldly Demons to do as you will and command with your Evil Hand. Thalya also receives a boost in her powers via a new ability-based perk system.
What's more, there's a new and longer main campaign with more skirmish maps to test your abilities as an overlord. You can also opt for a two-player co-op mode, working together to manage and rule over the same dungeon. All that said, the gameplay experience isn't all that different from previous releases. As such, some players will find this follow-up a bit unremarkable and "same-y".
Become the ultimate overlord
All in all, Dungeons 4 is a decent follow-up that retains much of the things that fans love about its predecessors and the series, in general. The campaign is longer, there's a new faction to face, and the game has grown in scale quite a bit. While it offers nothing new, plenty of fans and newcomers will enjoy it. Give it a try for yourself.
